She sat in the chair and patiently allowed Lindsay to first pull her hair up, braid it and then meticulously tie the ribbons in. She was half way done now. A splash of pink across her eyes, a little mascara for her already mile long lashes, finally just a little lip gloss and Alissa was ready to show me all of the moves she had perfected in the mirror for her day of dress up for the Retro Mini Sessions.
I’ve mentioned before the addition of professional hair and makeup to some of my sessions this year. It isn’t about the makeover aspect at all. In fact, it’s more of just taking an every day look and turning up the volume so the camera can see everything. That’s part of it, but definitely not the big part. Tell me one seven year old girl that won’t have the memory of a professional taking the time to perfect a little makeup and get every hair on her head exactly the way she wants it, etched into her memory bank. Considering when we were done shooting Alissa wanted no part in taking her hair down and from the Facebook pictures it looks like she slept in her look, I think it’s a pretty safe bet that Saturday was a day that she’ll always remember. The pro hair and makeup experience is exactly that, making you feel just a little more special than every other day and making our session even more of an experience.
Just a couple preview shots from Saturday’s session.
