Did I Dream It?

I’ve been editing through Ryder and Bobbie’s destination wedding pictures from Cancun, Mexico. It seems like it had to have been at least a decade ago that it was warm enough for a bride to wear a strapless dress outside and not get frostbite. That’s one of many definite perks to the whole destination wedding thing! Check back tomorrow for more proof of the awesomeness that is getting married in Mexico in the middle of winter.

Staying Relevant

I’ve always absolutely loved shooting seniors! One reason was that when I worked for Dave Fowler a good chunk of the sessions we did were for seniors. Learning how to do something from one of the best, makes it really easy to love it. I’ve also always felt like I could level well with my seniors and just get what’s in style. I truly feel that needing to stay up on what is in, has and will keep me relevant (I hope) for years to come.

I kicked off my senior season this year with two beautiful senior girls. I’ve had so many fun ideas swimming around in my head that being able to get them out was a great time. As I went through Alie’s pictures to narrow it down to a few for the blog, I found that I was really having to nitpick images to keep from posting 50 shots! That made my day! I really can’t wait for my next seniors, as its been too long since these were shot and I have even more ideas needing let out.

Now onto Alie’s pictures (her sneak peek was here and she’s the newest face in my blog header). First of all, let me say that this session made me feel a little old for a split second. My senior year of high school my girlfriends and I kind of adopted Alie’s older brother Andy and took the “lowly” freshman out to lunch most days :) . To think that Andy was a freshman, he’s now done with college, and Alie was a fifth grader (I think my math skills are holding up there), and is already a senior… Holy smokes, I think I must have a few gray hairs showing! Over those years though, she has grown into such a sweetie and on top of that a complete knockout.

At some point I usually have to throw in an artsy shot or two!

Let me interrupt this image to point out how awesome Alie’s heels are. I think I almost got drool on them! :)

Getting a Little Anxious

Last night and tonight’s sessions were stormed out. :( Apparently Colorado has decided that it has had enough of this drought stuff and brought back the rainy, stormy, and tornado watch filled evenings of my childhood. Yes, for you non-Coloradoans reading this, Colorado gets its fair share of severe weather that doesn’t include snow. However, Mother Nature’s rediscovery has left me wanting to shoot and get all of these ideas that are bouncing around in my head, out and into reality.

These rainouts have given me a little time to play catch up with my card downloading and backing up. The bummer part though, my computer has decided to start acting up on me. Luckily its warrantied, but it can’t get fixed until I get back to Fort Wayne. :(

However, before it decided to do this new little trick, I did get a couple of images from Nicole and Zach’s Saturday wedding ready for a bit of a peek.

Hopefully by Wednesday I have at least one other session that I can share a sneak peek with you from.

Turkey Day Card Sale!

I love my lab’s card options. Last year I had an option for my clients to pay for a card design and I would send them the file and they could print them wherever they wanted. However, when those cards starting showing up in my mail box the nit-picker in me found a flaw with that plan. I noticed that all of the prints were much darker than my designs. I tested them all out with both of my labs and without any color correction they came back fine. So I then experimented and sent them to one of the box stores to see what I would get. I got a dark print. I asked the worker at the counter and they said that it must have been a really dark print because their machines try to make images look their best. Thing is, the machine didn’t need to do anything.

So, knowing that the economy is looking down this year and knowing that I don’t want you all sending out dark, muddy prints I am doing a limited time sale to help us both out. Get beautiful custom made Christmas, Hannukah, Kwanza, Festivus, New Year’s cards, birth announcements or anything else that you need a card for, at more than half off my regular prices! This is going to run from today (November 13) through November 30. Anyone who had a session with me is eligible. Also, anyone who books a session before December 01 can lock in these sale prices.

There are quite a few card options as far as sizes and folds go. For the design itself, you will be the only one of my clients with that specific one. Once your order is placed, I will work up the design, link you to a first round proof, and from there you can make one round of revisions (if you want). From that point it takes 4-5 business days to have the cards ready to roll into your hands.

So, sit down and make your card list. Once you know how many you will need drop me a line. I will get an invoice drawn up and once you place a 50% deposit you are locked in for the Turkey Day Card Sale pricing. Or, if you haven’t had your session yet, drop me a line and we’ll get the ball rolling!

Click on the image above to download a pdf that has all of the sizing and pricing options!
