A Very Special Wedding

All of the weddings I shoot are incredibly special, but getting to play such a big part in one of my closest friend’s weddings was just that much better. As usual I had one of the hardest times picking just a few images, so these are going to come in a series. For today, check out Jason and Lisa’s getting ready images.

With a couple as good looking as these two, I don’t think I could have taken a bad shot if I tried. Lisa was an absolutely gorgeous and super relaxed bride.

Jason… I just can’t call him Jason and not feel like a fraud. So, let’s try again, Haas was his normal handsome and smiling self.

The room was bustling all morning, but Lisa’s sister, and matron of honor found a quiet spot to put the finishing touches on her speech.

Lisa’s dress was absolutely beautiful and unique. You’ll have to check back next week to actually see her in it.

Boy, was I ever impressed with how well this cowboy cleaned up. I guess I can’t leave it just at Haas, the rest of the guys were almost unrecognizable spruced up in their tuxes, too.

Like I said, check back next week for many more images!

Welcoming Back the Sun

This has been another rainy and gray week in northeast Indiana. As I edited these images I could almost feel the perfect 75 degree weather and sunshine on my back. When we went out to shoot this session, we ended in this same big field because I couldn’t resist the great big blue skies and the bright green.

Kristen is graduating in just a few days and her mom wanted to make sure and include her brothers, and take the opportunity to get some nice shots of the three of them and a few to spotlight her as well. I think the guys were less than thrilled with the idea, but by the end they had loosened up and were having fun with it.

I also have to give a little shout out to Luke and Jamie. Luke is the younger brother in the green Aero shirt. In September he is marrying one of my closest friends Jamie. I love shooting weddings, but I am so looking forward to being a bridesmaid and kicking back and helping them celebrate their big day! Congrats again guys!

I have to start this off with Kristen… isn’t she stunningly beautiful?!

I’m pretty sure her brothers are the type that would let her know if she were ever dating someone they didn’t approve of. I’m not sure if the guy or Kristen would know first though. :)

Do you see what I mean about the blue and green? It is just screaming Spring!

Shaking the Travel Hangover

My trips back to Colorado usually have a week that follows that consists of doing laundry, cleaning the house (I could swear it was clean when I left), and playing the game of catch up that presents itself every single time. I managed to shake it in a couple of days this time, instead of taking a whole week though. Little Ethan’s pictures were the first motivator for me.

Over the last year I’ve gotten a few opportunities to play and shoot with little Ethan. This one however, was a little different. You may remember this sneak peek from his nursery. Our friends Troy and Julie had been wanting to add to their family for a few years. There were however a few road blocks, and apparently those road blocks were meant to be, because without them little Ethan wouldn’t have come into their lives. After a little over a year of fostering him with hopes of adopting, Ethan’s mommy and daddy are officially Troy and Julie. Last month his adoption was finalized and I can’t begin to put into words the relief that his new parents finally felt.

I can safely say that Ethan is a very lucky little boy to get those two for parents, and they are just as lucky to have gotten such a cutie! Congratulations guys, Mitch and I are so glad that you can officially start this new chapter and not play the “what if” worrying game anymore!

I mentioned in this session’s sneak peek that Ethan was teething, so we were expecting a fussy little boy. Well folks, here’s the proof that for a couple of hours he wasn’t bothered with that pesky tooth pain.

I’m definitely planning on making a big canvas out of one of these next field shots, but have no idea how I’m going to choose which one.

Can you even picture this little face ever being fussy?

Can you see why I had a hard time choosing just a few images to blog?!
